ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Angela and what can I say? I love food. Cooking it, eating it, looking at it, shopping for it, reading about it - you name it - I love it. My obsession with food started as a young girl at school. I can remember my Mum giving me carte blanche to cook a 2 course meal on Saturday nights and I loved the whole process from planning what to cook, the preparation and of course the eating of it. I am an avid collector of cook books and magazines and read through them time and time again. My hubby often laughs at me when I choose to read a recipe book in bed as if I was reading the latest bestseller. My early childhood was spent in South Africa and Zimbabwe and then latterly in Scotland and England so my influences are quite diverse. My Mum has probably been the biggest influence in my life as she has always been a great cook. I have so many good childhood memories based around the food that my Mum cooked for us. It is probably because of this that I have decided to journal my cooking experiences through this blog. I am a Mum to two gorgeous young children - My Golden Pair - and I would love to have something for them to look back on one day and remember the good times that we had through our love of food and sharing it together as a family.

  1. THANKS for your lovely comments on my blog Angela, Lavender and Lovage! I am now following you and I am SO thrilled to have met you, as we have lots in common, plus your blog is delightful! I was born in South Africa, in Wynberg and we lived in Fishhoek....I then moved to Hong Kong, England, Germany, Cyprus and I now share my time between SW France and North Yorkshire in England! Like you, my biggest influence in my cooking was my grandmother and my mum, who still cooks and bakes! It's LOVELY to meet you, and I am following you now....keep up the good work and I will pass your blog link on to friends! Karen

    1. Thanks so much Karen. We have another big similarity in that I also have a house in SW France - near Bergerac. Unlike you I don't get to spend as much time as I would like out there. Such a beautiful place and great quality of life. I will be following Lavender and Lovage and am already thinking about entering your Tea Time challenge.
